That's
right - the weekend we look forward to all year is just a few days away, and
we're looking forward to another great weekend of camping, camaraderie, and of
course amateur radio. (scroll

This
year, once again we will be located at Dutchess County’s Bowdoin Park, (pavilion

We will
be operating in category 3A, meaning three HF stations. Additionally, we
will have a VHF/UHF station. This
will allow for a combination of CW, digital, and phone operating. Remember
that even if your current license doesn't provide HF privileges, you WILL be
able to operate HF under the club callsign – K2QS - if you desire (as long as a
control operator of the appropriate license class is present, which should be
the case all weekend).
We will
also operate a GOTA station – that’s Get
On The Air – to be operated only by novices and inactive hams, with an
experienced operator available for coaching. Don’t by shy!! We’
Also if you want you can bring your

We will be using MBARC 146.970 (PL

there for the first time.
Joining
us on Saturday will be the staffed emergency communications vehicles of the
Dutchess County Red Cross and the Dutchess County Emergency Response Vehicle,
which will be available for tour.
While
operating is the main attraction at Field Day, please remember that any help you
can provide setting up Friday and breaking things down Sunday would be greatly
appreciated.
What
would Field Day be without FOOD? As usual, we have a menu planned for the
major meals throughout the weekend, but in case anyone wants to bring something
and hasn't already committed to any one particular meal, please keep in mind
that beverages of all sorts (non-alcoholic, please) will be most
welcome. It is going to be much warmer this weekend than over the recent
weeks and working on the radio can certainly work up a thirst! A good
supply of drink will go a long way towards keeping everyone hydrated and
happy...
