The QSY Society Amateur Radio Cub

If you're not quite sure how you arrived at this site and are scratching your head wondering what the heck "amateur radio" is, click here to find out.  If you're already aware of this wonderful, exciting, fulfilling hobby, read on...

PictureThe QSY Society is a group of amateur radio enthusiasts dedicated to havingFUN with the hobby, while still fulfilling the stated goals of the amateur radio service.  The majority of our membership comes from the Mid-Hudson region of New York State (Dutchess, Putnam, Orange & Ulster counties), but is open to all.  We enjoy the camaraderie of our group activities, and appreciate a good sense of humor!.Many ham clubs tend to get bogged-down by their internal structure, suffering from the effects of their own bureaucracies, politics and related strife which quite frankly tends to drive some members away.  From the ground-up the QSY Society was designed to avoid that.  There is no Executive Board or group of directors.  Rather, there is simply a "Club Coordinator", whose primary duties are to run the monthly meetings and coordinate the various group activities.  That role is assisted by (naturally) the "Assistant Club Coordinator," who's duties are just that - assisting the CC.  There are no standing committees; when needed they are comprised of volunteers on an "ad hoc" basis.

If you're still reading this and feel that this type of unstructured, loosely-knit type of group appeals to you, why not pay us a visit?  Check out our meeting schedule and come to our next meeting.  You're guaranteed to be welcome and pleasantly surprised!

Can't make it to the meeting?  Email your questions and/or comments to us - we'd love to hear from you!
